Mr. Deepjee Singhal
 
The Business Advisory and Internal Control Group of Pipalia Singhal & Associates are led by Deepjee Singhal based out of our Mumbai office. He is also an advisor to Sama Audit Systems & Software Pvt Ltd – a leading organisation in Audit Software and Risk Management and Assurance Training Events.

Deepjee graduated in Science, having majored in Chemistry from the University of Bombay and is presently a Fellow Chartered Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor with IIA, Florida. He is a Certified Enterprise Risk Assessor from Methodware Ltd, New Zealand.

Deepjee is also a Certified Drucker Curriculum Trainer, having being trained in management at the Drucker Institute, Claremont Graduate University, California (Peter F. Drucker School of Management). Deepjee teaches MBO and Balanced Scorecard at the Drucker Curriculum program in India.

During his more than 15 years of professional experience Deepjee has helped several medium scale companies to restructure their business activities, institutionalize systems and procedures and establish best practices. He has been reviewing adequacy of internal control systems in large Indian and Multinational organisations and providing assurance to the Board on a regular basis. He has reviewed businesses spanning more than 20 sectors during these last 15 years. He has been a project director for SAP implementation in a Paper Industry Client which also was judged the best ACE implementation by SAP in India.

He has conducted training programmes on various professional subjects like Risk Management, Internal Control, Corporate Governance, Assurance, etc. through participation in meets of major companies in India like ONGC, L&T, ACC,Oil India Ltd, Numaligarh Refinery Ltd, etc. and in various professional forums of ICAI, ICWAI, IIA, ISACA, NIFM and IIM - Bangalore. Mr. Singhal is also a regular guest faculty at IIM-Bangalore on Risk Management and Internal Controls. He was one of the Workshop Leaders in Programme on COBIT at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has also been organising training Workshops for Audit and Finance Professionals all over India.

Apart from his professional interests, Deepjee contributes articles and publications to local and national institutes, supporting them in their developmental work in an honorary capacity.

  • Member - Academic Relation Committee IIA Inc. Florida 2003-06
  • President of Institute of Internal Auditors India, Bombay Chapter in 1998; also on the All India Council for more than three years
  • Member - ASSOCHAM Committee on Corporate Governance for the year 2002-2003
  • Member - Indian Merchants Chamber Committee on Corporate Governance for the year 2003
  • Member - Advisory Board for Internal Audit Services and Core Faculty Bombay Chartered Accountants Society.
  • Founder President of the Drucker Society in Mumbai, and oversees amongst other matters the development of new Drucker Societies in India – to ensure that the teachings and legacy of Peter F. Drucker, i.e. ethical leadership and integrity in management is used effectively for enhancing India’s intellectual capital, management and governance across institutions.
He has jointly designed course on Internal Audit Studies for Bombay Chartered Accountants Society. He has authored several articles and publications including a research paper on behalf of IIA Inc., Florida, USA, titled “Internal Audit : An Empirical Framework On Small And Medium Enterprises In The Indian Environment” and “Future of Internal Audit”. He has contributed to the development of “Internal Audit” and “Using CAAT’s – Practical Case Studies”, publications of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has been regularly writing articles on Business Risk Management and Internal Audit in “The Chartered Accountant” and is a joint columnist on Internal Audit articles in the “Bombay Chartered Accountant Journal”.
