The International Accounting and Assurance Group of KNAV are led by Khozema Anajwalla, a Partner in the Mumbai Office.

Khozema qualified as a US Certified Public Accountant from the Delaware State Board of Accountancy and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also an Indian Chartered Accountant with a fellowship from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and did his training with a leading Indian accounting, tax and business advisory firm. He obtained Accredition in Business Valuation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Khozema qualified as a Canadian Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and British Columbia. Khozema also holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, University of Mumbai, India and a Bachelors degree in General Law from the Government Law College, Mumbai, India.

Khozema is a Certified Drucker Curriculum Trainer, having being trained in management at the Drucker Institute, Claremont Graduate University, California (Peter F. Drucker School of Management). Khozema teaches Effective Executive at the Drucker Curriculum program in India.

For the past 20 years, Khozema has been a consultant and advisor to companies on International and National Accounting and Audit Issues and has provided Management Assurance Services to growing, mid sized entrepreneurial Indian companies. He has been instrumental in rendering a comprehensive range of International Business Advisory Services to leading Indian and International business houses as a business advisor.
 
His portfolio of clients includes:
  • Leading Indian Multi national organizations in Pharma, Bio Technology, Information Technology, consumer products, industrial products, forging and service oriented industries
  • Owner-managed, entrepreneurial, businesses, including small and medium enterprises
  • Not for profit organizations both national and international
After qualifying as a US CPA, Khozema along with Nishta, Atul and Vaibhav founded KNAV Consulting in 1998, an international tax, accounting and business advisory firm. At KNAV, Khozema is the International Accounting and Assurance Partner. Here he has assisted Indian and International companies in International Accounting issues such as US GAAP and IFRS. He has advised Indian companies on various aspects of structuring their business internationally, structuring an entry vehicle in India and out of India, on matters such as cross-border taxation, transfer pricing, on doing business in US and US Tax issues.

In September 2001, when KNAV partners merged with Grant Thornton India, Khozema founded the Mumbai office for Grant Thornton. In April 2005, the KNAV partners de-merged from Grant Thornton to focus on building a niche international firm. Today, KNAV has a presence in USA, India and UK, and is fast expanding to Canada, France, Denmark and Netherlands

  • Engagement Partner on US GAAP/ US GAAS engagements, Indian GAAP/GAAS engagements, domestic and international tax and regulatory services;
  • International Assurance & Business Advisory Services for Indian multi national companies assisting them to expand internationally; and

Till date spoken extensively at nearly 20 in house training programs and 80 workshops/seminars attended by nearly 500 corporate houses

International and National training conferences, speaking engagements and client meetings:

Khozema has participated actively at Grant Thornton’s International Assurance Training Program at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and spoken at conferences at US, besides travelling to US / UK/ Canada, Paris and China for leading various client engagements.

He is regularly invited to present papers and speak at various conferences and seminars organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Apart from his professional interests, Khozema is a voracious reader and enjoys travelling and contributes articles to local and national institutes, supporting them in their developmental work in an honorary capacity. He currently serves as the Treasurer of the Drucker Society in Mumbai, and oversees amongst other matters the development of new Drucker Societies in India – to ensure that the teachings and legacy of Peter F. Drucker, i.e. ethical leadership and integrity in management is used effectively for enhancing India’s intellectual capital, management and governance across institutions.
