The Risk Management and Assurance Group of Pipalia Singhal & Associates are led by Manish Pipalia based out of our Mumbai office. He is also an advisor to Sama Audit Systems & Software Pvt Ltd – a leading organisation in Audit Software and Risk Management and Assurance Training Events.

Manish has graduated in Commerce with major subject being Financial Accounts and Auditing from the University of Bombay, a Fellow Chartered Accountant, a Graduate Cost and Works Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, IIA Florida and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), ISACA, USA. He is a Certified Enterprise Risk Assessor from Methodware Ltd, New Zealand.

Manish is also a Certified Drucker Curriculum Trainer, having being trained in management at the Drucker Institute, Claremont Graduate University, California (Peter F. Drucker School of Management). Manish teaches Managing Non Profit Institutions and Social Impacts and Responsibility of a Business at the Drucker Curriculum program in India.

During his more than 15 years of professional experience Manish has contributed to the establishment and institutionalization of risk management and internal control systems and procedures in large and medium scale organisations in India. He has been associated with setting up Risk Management models in the UAE working with Risk Management Experts from Australia. He has been reviewing adequacy of internal control systems in large Indian and Multinational organisations and providing assurance to the Board on a regular basis. He has reviewed businesses spanning more than 20 sectors during these last 15 years. He has been involved in several Strategic Planning exercises as well as ERP Implementation of PeopleSoft and Orion (as Client Project Manager).

He is regularly invited to present papers and speak at various conferences and seminars on various professional subjects like Risk Management, Internal Control, Corporate Governance, Assurance, CAAT’s etc. by major companies like Oil India Ltd, Numaligarh Refinery Ltd, Acc, Saurashtra Cement Ltd, etc. in India and professional institutes including ICAI, ICWAI, IIA, ISACA, NIFM and IIM – Bangalore. He was one of the Workshop Leaders in Programme on COBIT at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and in a programme on Risk Management at Abdul Lateef Jameel, Jeddah, KSA and with the Audit team of SABIC conducted in India. He has also been organising Training Workshops for Audit Professionals at various centres in India.

Apart from his professional interests, Manish contributes articles and publications to local and national institutes, supporting them in their developmental work in an honorary capacity. He has served as Faculty at the Internal Audit Studies Course of Bombay Chartered Accountants Society. He has jointly designed a course on Internal Audit Studies for Bombay Chartered Accountants Society and jointly authored a research paper on behalf of IIA Inc., Florida, USA titled “Internal Audit - An Empirical Framework On Small And Medium Scale Enterprises In The Indian Environment”. He has contributed to the development of “Internal Audit” and “Using CAAT’s – Practical Case Studies”, publications of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has been regularly writing articles on Business Risk Management and Internal Audit in “The Chartered Accountant” and is a joint columnist on Internal Audit articles in the “Bombay Chartered Accountant Journal”.

He contributed to research in Internal Audit as a member of the Research Committee of The Institute of Internal Auditors, Bombay Chapter – 1994-1998.

He is also the Honorary Secretary of the Drucker Society in Mumbai, and oversees amongst other matters the development of new Drucker Societies in India – to ensure that the teachings and legacy of Peter F. Drucker, i.e. ethical leadership and integrity in management is used effectively for enhancing India’s intellectual capital, management and governance across institutions. He has special interests in the spiritual philosophy of India.
