The Business Advisory Group of KNAV is led by Vaibhav Manek, based out of our Mumbai office.

Vaibhav has undergone executive education at Harvard Business School at Boston on “Leading Professional Service Firms” and is a Certified Drucker Curriculum Trainer, having being trained in management at the Drucker Institute, Claremont Graduate University, California (Peter F. Drucker School of Management). Vaibhav teaches Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Drucker Curriculum program in India.

Vaibhav qualified as a US Certified Public Accountant from the Delaware State Board of Accountancy and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He went on to obtain an Accrediton in Business Valuation (ABV) from the AICPA.

He holds a Masters degree in Commerce from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, University of Mumbai, India and was ranked No. 1 in the University of Mumbai rankings in the final year M.Com post-graduating class, topping with honors.

Vaibhav is also a Fellow Chartered Accountant in India, having all India ranks at Foundation and Intermediate level of the CA examinations, and has trained at India’s foremost tax, assurance and business advisory firm – Bansi, Mehta & Co., Chartered Accountants.

For over 16 years, Vaibhav has been instrumental in rendering a comprehensive range of Business Advisory Services (M & A transaction advisory, Valuations, Feasibility Reviews, Project Reviews, Fund raising, developing business plans, assisting in organic growth internationally – assisting in setting up businesses in over 20 countries), International Assurance and Accounting Advisory (US GAAP, IAS / IFRS & Indian GAAP), and International Tax and Transfer Pricing Services to leading Indian business houses, Entrepreneurial Start-ups and MNCs..
 
His portfolio of clients includes:

  • Leading Indian Businesses (including MNCs) in FMCGs, Pharmaceuticals, Technology (IT, Business Intelligence, Software Services, Products, BPOs, Call Centers and other Technology Companies), Gem & Jewellery, Media & Entertainment, Textiles, Consumer, Forging and Industrial products.
After qualifying as a US CPA, Vaibhav co-founded KNAV in 1998, an international tax, accounting and business advisory firm with three other partners. At KNAV, Vaibhav is the Business Advisory partner, where he has advised Indian companies in various aspects of structuring their business internationally, on mergers and acquisitions, on new businesses – entrepreneurial start ups, on matters such as Indian and International taxation, transfer pricing, doing business in US and Europe, IFRS & US GAAP accounting and US Tax issues.

Between September 2001 and March 2005, KNAV partners took an equity in Grant Thornton India Private Limited, and Vaibhav became a partner in the Mumbai office for Walker Chandiok & Co. in India. In April 2005, the KNAV partners de-merged from Grant Thornton to with a focus on building a niche international firm. Today, KNAV has a presence in USA, India and UK, and is expanding to Canada, France and Netherlands.

  • International and National Business Advisory Services for over 225 Businesses and businesses, to help them expand their business internationally
  • Engagement Partner on M & A, US GAAP/ US GAAS engagements, transfer pricing studies, Indian GAAP/GAAS engagements, domestic and international tax and regulatory services; and,
  • Conducting training programs and speaking at national and international seminars / conferences on M & A, Leadership & Strategy, Tax planning, Transfer Pricing, Doing Business in India and USA, US GAAP and US Taxation.
Vaibhav has led various client engagements and participated actively and spoken at various training programs and conferences at New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Las Vegas, London, Paris, Dubai, Madrid, Singapore, Bangkok, Amsterdam, Zurich and Rome.

In India, Vaibhav is regularly invited to present papers and speak at various conferences and seminars organized by CII, NASSCOM, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society, Indo-American Chamber of Commerce and local CA Study Circles.

Apart from his professional interests, Vaibhav assists local and national institutes/ charities/trusts/societies, supporting them in their developmental work in an honorary capacity. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Drucker Society in Mumbai, and oversees the development of new Drucker Societies in India – to ensure that the teachings and legacy of Peter F. Drucker, i.e. ethical leadership and integrity in management is used effectively for enhancing India’s intellectual capital, management and governance across institutions.
